This year’s theme looks at the pressures of loss – be it a relationship, a job, income, a home or a bereavement, and how people can deal with it – under the hashtag #LETITOUT.

The State of Mind team and volunteers will be at games throughout Round 18 raising awareness of mental fitness and being on hand to offer support to fans and the Rugby League community.

Ahead of the round, there is a “Time to Move” walk between Rugby League grounds in the north west to raise awareness that physical fitness is good for your mental fitness.

Fans are encouraged to talk part in the routes on foot, on a bike, in a wheelchair or on roller skates.

On Sunday June 4, the starting point is the DW Stadium in Wigan at 10.30am, going through to Leigh Sports Village via the Leigh Carnival of Colour.

Then on Monday June 5, the final leg of the campaign goes from Hollins Park in Winwick to the Halliwell Jones Stadium in Warrington via the Sankey Valley Trail, starting at 3.00pm and arriving at the stadium for 5.00pm, in time for the Stadium Step Challenge.

State of Mind was established in 2011 in response to the tragic death of Terry Newton, to raise awareness of mental health issues, tackle stigma and signpost support to Rugby League players and fans.

No other sport in the UK has ever had a themed round of fixtures for mental wellbeing – 2017 is the seventh-year State of Mind has “taken over Super League”.

This year’s themed round takes place on the weekend of Round 18, June 8th to 11th, and the following games: Leigh Centurions v Wigan Warriors (Thu)St Helens v Widnes Vikings (Fri)Salford Red Devils v Hull FC (Fri)Wakefield Trinity v Leeds Rhinos (Sat)Catalans Dragons v Huddersfield Giants (Sat)Castleford Tigers v Warrington Wolves (Sun)

Ten ways to look after your State of Mind are: Talk about your feelings; Eat well; Keep in touch; Take a break; Accept who you are; Keep active; Drink sensibly; Ask for help; Do something you’re good at; Care for others.
