Since 2012, the 21-year-old Grade 1 referee oversaw the 2013 Champion Schools final at Wembley Stadium, made his Super League Touch Judge debut in 2014, officiated in League 1 and Championship and was Touch Judge at England’s international Test against France last year in Avignon.

On his full-time appointment, Moore, said: “It’s something I’ve always wanted to do since starting as a 16-year-old in the North West Counties League and working my way through Champion Schools, Academy games and the National Conference. “The training is intense as a full-time referee and our fitness levels need to be constantly maintained as we’re keeping up with professional athletes every week.

“Phil Bentham was my manager a couple of seasons ago so I’ve always looked up to him as someone who is experienced and officiated the big games. “I’m proof that if you work hard you can get these opportunities to join this group. There are more like me who will be knocking on the door soon.”

Head of Match Officials at the Rugby Football League, Steve Ganson, said: “This is a fantastic chance for Liam to take the next step in his career and establish himself as a regular full-time Match Official. “He has already gained plenty of experience working in Betfred Super League, Kingstone Press Championship and League 1 and more recently as Touch Judge at the Warrington v Wigan Ladbrokes Challenge Cup quarter-final. “Our development programme is producing quality young match officials and demonstrates that there is a career pathway for anyone interested in joining the Match Officials Team.”
