Talking Helps Newcastle
Talking Helps Newcastle is the NHS talking therapy service for Newcastle residents, delivered by a partnership of Insight Healthcare; Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust; and Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust.
Who is the service for? Everyone goes through difficult times; sometimes our problems affect our day-to-day lives and we feel that we can’t cope. If you are in this situation, you are not alone. We can help you if you are experiencing common issues such as:
Talking Helps Newcastle is a free, confidential service available to anyone aged 16 and above who is registered with a GP surgery in Newcastle.
How do I make an appointment? You can ask your GP for a referral to us or contact us directly by phone on 0300 555 1115 to make a self-referral.
The Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team is a team of experienced mental health staff, which includes nurses, social workers, psychiatrists and pharmacy staff. We offer assessment and home treatment for people over 16 experiencing a mental health crisis, as an alternative to hospital admission.
The team operates 24 hours a day 7 days a week. However, the crisis team does not provide an ‘emergency’ service such as a 999 response.
